Interactive fiction about toilet paper
Bog Roll Quest is an interactive game by Furymakes. The game was inspired by events that transpired after the Coronavirus was declared a global pandemic. Millions of people flocked to their local grocery store and began stockpiling rolls of toilet paper. You will play as the Bunker Owner 2403, who has prepared a bunker in case the apocalypse arrives. Unfortunately, the company you hired to gather supplies neglected to include any toilet paper.
What is Bog Roll Quest?
The game takes place after a virus has affected every country in the world, and no one is allowed out of their homes. Luckily, you availed the ‘Bunk Off’ bunker from The Very Normal Company. The bunker is said to be fully equipped to sustain personal isolation for six months in case of a major disaster. It contains a dual-purpose toilet, prunes, coffee, and bran. It has everything except bog rolls.
Without any means of wiping your nether regions, you will need to go on an adventure to obtain the coveted commodity. Several obstacles will be in your way, including toilet paper cults, artificially intelligent babies, lesbian separatists, and empty Aldi stores. The goal of the game is to click on predetermined commands. It can be as simpling as clicking ‘proceed’ or selecting one of three lines.
The majority of the game appears as text on a blank screen. Black text is Rudy, the bunker’s artificial intelligence system. Your lines will appear in blue. Click on the blue text in order to proceed. You can also proceed by clicking on the image that appears on the screen if no text is provided. It can be likened to reading a choose-your-own-adventure book as the game can only be completed by reading and responding.
Short, casual interactive game
Bog Roll Quest is a charming, pseudo-post apocalyptic and science fiction game that you can engage with to pass the time. The game is made up of less than one hundred pages and four illustrations, so you can quickly finish the story in one sitting. You can go through the story again, and pick different responses to see what kind of ending you’ll get. Overall, Bog Roll Quest offers a good reimagination of the pandemic.
